Recently we had a patron come into Southglenn wanting to use the Mac to edit a .PAGES file that they had been working on. We assumed that since it was a Mac created document it could be edited on that computer. But the Mac does not include the iWork suite, it actually uses a program called NeoOffice, a free software download. According to this wiki for the program, NeoOffice does not support .PAGES files for opening, editing, or saving.

I would suggest to Mac user patrons that they save their text documents in both .PAGES and .doc or .docx formats when they plan to edit it on a different computer- just to cover all of their bases.
