eFlicks

I recently went to Denver Public as a patron, and decided to browse their catalog of eBooks. Believe it or not, DPL also provides eFlick movies for download. The collection looks like it is mostly comprised of classics, non-fiction, independent movies, and some children's movies. I find the idea intriguing, but I think the service is very limited. You can only watch the overdrive downloads on your PC or a few WMV supported portable devices, such as ZEN media players or Sony Walkman media players. I can imagine how popular this service would be in libraries if people could watch these items on their TV, i-devices, or other smart phones and tablets, and if there were more mainstream titles available. But that would simply make us a Netflix.:)
